TEHRAN – In a message issued on Saturday, President Mahmud Ahmadinejad congratulated the Sri Lankan government and nation on the national day.

In the message addressed to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Ahmadinejad said it is a great pleasure to “congratulate Sri Lanka’s national day to Your Excellency, government and nation of the country.”
Ahmadinejad also expressed hope that friendly ties between Iran and Sri Lanka would be strengthened in line with the two countries’ common interests.
